FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything people usually ask before starting a build. Still curious? Get in touch.
Do I need to know anything about keyboards to order?+
No. Every Individual and Team build starts with a consultation. We walk you through size, layout, switch feel, and color, and explain each choice in plain terms.
How much does a custom keyboard cost?+
Individual builds typically range from $150–200 up to $500+, depending on the case, switches, and keycaps you choose. The Foundational 96% is a fixed $160 plus shipping.
How long does a build take?+
Individual Custom Builds and The Foundational 96% typically take 7–14 business days. Team & Bulk Builds take 14–18 business days. Part availability and supplier shipping can cause delays, and we keep you updated throughout.
What is The Foundational 96%?+
It's our pre-configured custom build. It is not mass-produced: each one is hand-assembled, lubed, and tested to order, just in a configuration we've already dialed in. Choose a black or white case with a matching keycap set.
Can I program the keys?+
Yes. Our builds support full key programmability, and we give you hands-on guidance so any key can do what you want.
Do you build keyboards for companies and teams?+
Yes. Team & Bulk Builds can be matched to your brand colors and logo, with a shared configuration across your team.
Where do you ship?+
We currently ship within the U.S. only, via tracked carriers (USPS, UPS, or FedEx). Shipping is added at checkout for The Foundational 96%.
What is your return policy?+
You may request a return within 30 days of delivery if the keyboard is in its original condition and packaging. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility. See our Policies page for full details.
Is there a warranty?+
All builds include a 30-day workmanship warranty covering issues like loose solder joints, non-functional keys, and assembly defects.
Where are you located?+
Must Keebs is based in Chicago and has been building keyboards since 2021.
